TK-91 by Cresco

5.20.25: TK-91 strain, Unveiling

Sealed. Cresco seals are at least as good as any in the business. The seal is totally stuck on, all the way around the rim of the plastic jar. The bud gives off a dank, skunk, citrus aroma, boom—

The weed is spongy, it has life, package date 4.3.24, over 13 months ago!

Three nugs: 1.54, 1.14, and .87. I don’t usually weigh each nug, this was kind of unusual, I haven’t done it much since, if at all. That totals 3.53 grams. The grind is really nice, it’s a deep green color; fluffy, even, pert.

I was happy with this jar. It was working fuel. You’re not in this one for the taste. 3.53 grams.

Effects: First Impression

TK-91 was good, fine. No flavor. Not sure how long—ninety minutes. Representative, some high-deas, Not a downer. Some bite. Maybe a re-upper.

(And then I went on to smoke something else…)

The Next Day: Second Impression

3:23 am, can’t sleep or I don’t want to or I’m just not sleeping. I stepped out to smoke a joint, TK-91. The joints I’ve been rolling recently are .38g or so. I leave a little at the end, usually. So it’s a bit wasteful, maybe. That butt end—which includes the paper tip/crutch I employ in my joints.

It’s resiny down toward the end, what would be the most potent part of the joint but also the most tar-y, tarry, tar-filled, I would think. Unfortunately, bowl smoking continues to irritate my throat, I don’t quite understand it, maybe someone reading this can offer me some insight. Right at the back of my throat, a scratch, a tickle, a dry-ness. I tried using hemp wick, my throat was still getting irritated. Not even as I’m smoking but twenty minutes later, the nagging discomfort kicks up.

The TK-91 might help me sleep, or it might not. I am up, alert, sipping vodka, could drink more, always, but shouldn’t. 3:29. Gonna try to sleep, feeling the smoke now…

May 24, 2025: Rolling some more TK-91

Breaking up the bud. Even with age, it feels and smells fresh. I haven’t added a moisture pack. The flower is plush, soft, and sticky. It smells of skunky citrus. It feels, looks, and smells great.

Still Late May: Third & Fourth Impressions

May 25, 2025: After a joint an hour ago, there is good carry, there is build. The effect is trippy but not bitey. I want to re-up to see if it builds further.

(…but I have no record of doing so…I am not sure I did…)

May 28, 2025: Dateline Farm. TK-91 on tap. 53% relative humidity in the kitchen, seventy degrees. Red Sox at Brewers, just heard Guardians come back against the Dodgers. … The TK-91 is just right. Still at 53% humidity. Breezes, Weezer, seventy degrees…

Fourth Impression, 3 hr effect

May 30, 2025, 15:43.

TK-91 to start the Friday afternoon. The Cubs trying to come back versus the Reds in the ninth at Wrigley, 2 out, 6-2 Cincy.

The TK-91 is not tasty, not to me. Toasted flavor. Earthy, acrid. But it’s got me buzzing around, gonna do some outside (deck) work. Gonna clean the toilet. I want to do something worth doing.

…some time passes, maybe an hour…

Did a lot more cleaning out deck boards than I imagined. Found a couple spots where the wood is rotting. I’m gonna sling a little Bondo. Then I’ll have my first drink of the day. 17:46

18:42. It’s been a functional effect. Still haven’t finished my first drink. I also Bondoed a metal chair and put out a new suet cake…

TK-91, Lineage

There isn’t much to it. It’s Triangle Kush crossed to Chem 91 (probably). Triangle Kush is, as I understand it, OG Kush, a form of it, or another name for it, the original OG Kush? Seedfinder has Triangle Kush as the unknown strain Emerald Triangle crossed with Neville’s Hindu Kush. Link to Seedfinder.eu here.

Maybe that is the acrid toasted flavor, maybe that’s the Chem Dawg. Or maybe that’s what OG Kush tastes like. I still don’t really know what OG Kush is supposed to taste like but Chem Dawg is supposed to taste chemy. I perceive it as a bitter, burnt taste. It’s not exactly pleasant.

A note on the number 91. One of my favorite recent strains, 91 Bacio, also carries the number in TK-91. Which is odd because 91 Bacio is a cross of Bacio Gelato with a strain called LD-95. So why not call it 95 Bacio? For it not to be called 95 Bacio makes me really curious. I am falling down a lineage rabbit hole, while high on a completely different strain, RS-11, which oddly tasted a lot like this TK-91. And 91 Bacio does have Triangle Kush in it.

This is starting to feel like a Terry Gilliam movie and I need to get back to the originally scheduled programming because I have two impressions yet to type up for TK-91, which sure did pass the pen-to-paper test.

Mid-June, Fifth Impression

Time for a smoke of TK-91, 6.15.25, 15:30.

There is a head rush, or a rising tide. Not racy.

I smoke this and I start doing things.

Giving up on line laundry, too humid.

And, the copperhead is back.

Caption: Eyes of copper, hence the name?

There’s a quiet resolve here.

18:21, still feeling, w/ drinks.

Carry. Three hours until I smoke again.

TK-91 more than fine.

Eyes of copper, hence the name. This was a second appearance or a new snake. Birds ran it off.

The End: Summary or Sixth Impression

TK-91, industrial, prepared, go to it. But not a high-deas strain. No goof.

I would do manual labor to TK-91; have.

If you want mind racy (TK-91 is body racy), try instead a sherb/gelato/bacio.
